Community guidelines

CIPA connects independent California pawnshops through ideas, vendor opportunities and professional conversation. Membership is free, and purchasing is optional.

Share useful ideas

Be accurate, respectful and clear. Describe trade opportunities honestly, including item condition and any relevant limitations. Post only goods and opportunities you are authorized to offer.

Protect private information

The board is public. Do not post customer information, pawn records, identification documents, passwords or confidential business information. Use a business contact method when arranging a private conversation.

Keep business decisions independent

Do not use the board to coordinate customer prices, loan rates, buying offers, wages, territories or boycotts with competing shops. Focus purchasing discussions on vendor categories and the services your business needs.

Trade responsibly

CIPA provides a place to connect. It does not process payments, provide escrow, inspect inventory or guarantee a member’s identity or an offer. Participants are responsible for checking counterparties and independently agreeing to transaction terms. Membership profiles are self-reported.

Respect the community

No harassment, spam, unlawful offers or misleading claims. Authors can remove their own posts and replies. CIPA administrators may remove content that does not belong on the board. Report a concern through the contact form, including a link to the discussion.

Membership and vendor opportunities

Membership provides access to the community and does not grant ownership in CIPA. Vendor agreements and specific discounts are not guaranteed. Any available offer should be evaluated on its own terms; every shop remains free to purchase elsewhere.
